About Dr. Howard Liu

Current

Dr. Liu is the Director of Cosmetic Dermatology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Group in Beverly Hills, where he offers a wide range of cosmetic services for rejuvenation of the body and face including soft tissue fillers, fractional laser resurfacing, intense pulsed light photorejuvenation, IPL hair reduction, vein removal, and cosmetic surgery.

In addition to his cosmetic practice, Dr. Liu has a comprehensive medical dermatology practice, ranging from facial reconstructive surgery after skin cancer removal to pediatric dermatology.

Dr. Liu is board-certified with the American Board of Dermatology and also holds a clinical faculty appointment as Assistant Clinical Professor in the Division of Dermatology at the University of California at Los Angeles. He is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and Pacific Dermatological Association. He also serves on the Patient Safety/Clinical Practice Committee for Cedars-Sinai Medical Group.

Training

Dr. Liu received his bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley, in Molecular Cell Biology with Highest Distinction Honors. He obtained his medical doctorate at the University of California, Davis, where he graduated top of his class. Subsequently, Dr. Liu completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Stanford University Hospital. He continued at Stanford for his Dermatology residency, where he was selected Chief Resident of the Department of Dermatology.

Dr. Liu has received several honors and awards, including selection into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and Phi Beta Kappa. He is also a past recipient of the University of California Regents Scholarship, Chinese American Physicians Scholarship, Arnold Gurevitch Presentation Award in Dermatology, and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery Preceptor Scholarship.

Special Interests

Dr. Liu is committed to on-going education of the general community and his medical colleagues. He is the author of several publications and frequently delivers presentations on his special interests, which include cosmetic rejuvenation of the maturing face & body, and skin cancer prevention & management.
